Average high in FoCo is 24 deg F. Predicted high for Colorado National Monument - the trip we've been planning for months - 25 deg F. How much I want to climb in subfreezing weather? - notta. So we devise a plan in less than 2 hours to climb in Sedona AZ.

We drive to Albuquerque, NM and visit good friend Jules. Jules is dog sitting the cutest dog in the world - Lolita the Pug.

Drive to Sedona and find free camping just past the intersection of 179 and I-17.
Its still cold in the morning.

After 12 hours in the tent, we head for Gibralter Rock and a climb called Sedona Senic Cruise aka Four Flying Apaches.

Marc contemplating the 1st pitch just before he realized that he had forgotten his climbing shoes. Which worked out since he soon developed a fever. The fever went away but he had a head cold the whole trip. My immune system was able to hold out until the last day.
Still we got some good views of the area.
